大ヒットして、一時は聴かない日はなかったこの曲。アナと雪の女王のテーマ曲は英語の勉強になります。ここでは let という使役動詞が効果的に使われています。

一般に使役動詞は let, make, have, get など、「～させる」という意味合いで使われるものです。しかし、それぞれは次のような違いがあり、それを意識して使い分ける必要があります。

○let は「（相手がしたがっていることを）～させてやる」という許可を表します。
Let me know what you said.　（彼がなんと言ったか教えてください。）
○make は「（無理にでも強制的に）～させる」という意味です。
They made me leave the room.　（彼らは私を部屋から追い出した。）
○have は「（当然してもらえることを）～してもらう、させる」という意味です。以下2つの使い方があります。
1. 　have＋目的語＋原形不定詞　の形をとり、目的語には「人」がきます。
　　I will have him repair my bag.（彼に私の鞄を修理してもらおう）
2. 　have＋目的語＋過去分詞　目的語には「物」がくる場合がほとんどですが、意味によっては「人」もきます。
Jack had his wallet stolen.（ジャックは財布を盗まれた）
○get は「（説得などをして、なんとか）～させる」という意味です。
　get＋目的語＋to do　の形をとります。
　　I will get him to attend the meeting.  （私は彼を会議に参加させます。）
